What does compostable mean? Is it different than biodegradable?
We chose to only distribute compostable products because unlike “biodegradable” or “recyclable” products, compostable products can be mixed with food waste and composted at an industrial facility. In a commercial composting facility they will break down in 12 to 16 weeks or less. In contrast, “biodegradable” products have no set timetable to break down if returned to nature. Additionally, only 10% of all plastics are recycled in the United States, and about 25% of plastics placed in recycling bins still wind up in landfills due to contamination.
Why should I buy compostable products if we don’t have a commercial facility?
On the production end of the lifecycle, compostable products use renewable, lower carbon, and reclaimed materials. Studies have shown that even if compostable packaging ends up in the landfill, it is inert and does not produce methane. Less than 10% of all plastics in the United States are actually recycled, and about 25% of plastics placed in recycling bins still wind up in landfills due to contamination. All in all, we believe that compostables are always a better choice than plastics.

Do compostable products perform?
We test every product we carry for performance and capability, and we guarantee every product we sell. Since every kitchen is different and every product is unique, we encourage you to take advantage of product samples to test in your specific environment.
How should I store compostable products?
Compostable products, by their very nature, are designed to break down over time. To maintain their highest integrity, we suggest storing them out of direct heat/sunlight, and using them within six months.
Can I see samples?

Do you have a minimum order?
There is no minimum order for will call pickup in Kona or Hilo. Our minimum for will call on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai is $150. We offer free delivery to your business location on any orders of $300 or more, across all islands.
Can I return unused product?
For health & sanitary purposes, we do not accept returns on any glass products. Unused, unopened compostable products in resellable condition may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase.
